Redmoor Wood is a decorative and naturally branched tree root that is excellent for both aquariums and terrariums. It is very popular in aquascaping due to its airy and natural appearance that adds depth and character to the decor.
The roots initially float and therefore need to be soaked before use, or anchored with stones or other weight until they are completely water-saturated.
When first soaked, the root may release substances that form a grayish-white slime coating on the surface. This may look like mold, but is completely natural and harmless to fish, shrimp and other aquarium animals. The coating can be easily brushed off, sucked up with a hose or left in place – it will disappear on its own after a while.
May initially cause slight discoloration of the water.
